Foiling Week came to a close with an event packed with competition, excitement, and a shared passion for foiling.
This year, BirdyFish organized a regatta program that brought together sailors to compete in various race formats.
Combining speed, strategy, and mastery of flight, the participants put on a spectacular show on the water, once again confirming the rise of foiling as an accessible, dynamic discipline open to sailors of all skill levels.
MAJOR DEBUT AT FOILING WEEK : IODA RACE
This edition will be marked by a first : the organization of the very first IODA Race.
This new format allowed sailors to experience a different approach to foil racing, with a boat that demands precision, foresight, and adaptability. This first IODA race was a highlight of the week, demonstrating BirdyFish’s commitment to continuing to develop new regatta formats centered on foiling—this time, in solo racing.
At the end of this first edition, Andy emerged victorious in the IODA Race. Congratulations to him !
GURAY & EDHEM WIN THE BIRDYFISH RACE
The BirdyFish Race once again featured intense competition among the participating crews. The conditions put the sailors’ technical skills and consistency to the test, with races going down to the wire.
At the end of the competition, Guray and Edhem won this year's BirdyFish Race, a reward for their skill in handling the boat and their consistency throughout the races.
BIRDYFISH FOILING SERIES YOUTH CUP : THE YOUTH TAKE CENTER STAGE
The future of foiling was also on display with the first BirdyFish Foiling Series Youth Cup, a competition for young sailors under the age of 25.
This event showcased a new generation of foilers, capable of sailing fast and competing in a demanding format. Their participation demonstrates that foiling continues to attract new participants and is gaining popularity among younger generations.
The victory goes to Frederico and Marco, who won this first edition of the BirdyFish Foiling Series Youth Cup.
A WEEK FILLED WITH COMPETITION AND SHARING
Beyond the results, this Foiling Week was a true gathering for the foiling and Birdyfish communities. The regattas allowed sailors from all walks of life to come together around a common goal: to improve, push their limits, and share the unique joy of sailing on foils.
With these three competitions—the BirdyFish Race, the IODA Race, and the BirdyFish Foiling Series Youth Cup—BirdyFish reaffirms its commitment to developing a form of foiling that is athletic, accessible, and forward-looking.
