the co-founders
pierre rhimbault
A graduate engineer from EIGSI La Rochelle, where he met Alban, Pierre is first and foremost a top-level sailor. After competing in the 420 class as part of a sports-study program and placing third at the 420 World Championships, he transitioned to match racing, breaking into the world’s top 20 alongside Jean-Baptiste, before continuing his career in the Figaro class. This dual background—both athletic and technical—led to the creation of BirdyFish.
alban satgé
Alban has built his career around engineering. After earning a BTS in industrial product design while pursuing a professional rugby career, he enrolled in an engineering school, where he met Pierre. He then continued his career at BIC, first in Brazil as a process engineer, then at the headquarters in France as a design and process engineer, before co-founding BirdyFish.
jean-baptiste morin
A top-level athlete and professional sailor, Jean-Baptiste competed at the highest level of sailing for more than ten years. He has competed in the Rolex Offshore Circuit and the Max Series, won the French Elite Match Racing Championship, and finished as runner-up in the European Youth Championship. He also spent several competitive seasons sailing alongside Pierre in match racing before co-founding BirdyFish.
Experts in composite manufacturing processes, our team covers all stages of production, from gelcoat to fittings.
Using products that are sensitive to their environment - glass/polyester for the hull and carbon/epoxy for the appendages - a temperate zone of between 19°c and 21°c enables us to control infusions throughout the year,
and ensure optimum production quality whatever the conditions.
Our team is constantly proposing improvements to processes, workstation ergonomics and the product itself.
Thanks to additive manufacturing, we can go from idea to test run. This in-house technology enables us to produce rapid prototypes in a very short space of time.
