• Navigation

What are the BirdyFish's sailing conditions and capabilities ?
Birdyfish will fly in 8 knots of wind.
From 8 to 23 knots, enjoy Birdyfish flying. As with all dinghies, as wind speed increases we would recommend reefing the sails. We do not recommend sailing above 23 kts wind speed for safety reasons.
Flat water is always easier for hydrofoils. Nevertheless, the boat performs well in chop and swells, but can become more unstable in tight chop.
How do you handle beach/beach starts with foils ?

For the BirdyFish S, the launching system is integrated into the hull. Simply remove the wheels from the hull once in the water, and stow them in the boat. The boat is ready to sail.

How are foils fitted ?
Is it possible to adjust the incidence of the foils and rudder ?

The main foils are fixed with no adjustment. Final adjustment is made at the factory prior to shipment. Body weight is used while sailing to trim out the boat when foiling.
The rudder angle can be adjusted by simply loosening the 2 bolts on top of the rudder plate with a 10 mm wrench when the boat is ashore or at a complete standstill in the water. It is set by aligning the adjustment lines (0, 1,2,3) with the transom.

The higher the number, the greater the angle of the rudder's load-bearing surface and the greater its thrust
