A first BirdyFish regatta on Carcans lake, who will emerge victorious from this pure foil competition?

The Grand Prix de l’Armistice with a class of foiling dinghies.

From 28 October to 1 November, the Birdyfish regatta took place on the Carcans lake during the Grand Prix de l’Armistice. The event was organised by the Cercle de la Voile de Bordeaux, Carcan and Maubuisson. The competition brought together sailing enthusiasts from a variety of disciplines, including FINN and 420. 7 teams made up of our dealers and private individuals demonstrated their mastery of the foiling dinghy, despite the difficult weather conditions.

During the five days of competition, the participants were confronted with an explosive weather cocktail. Strong winds, rain and even a touch of storm to add a little spice to each of the 11 rounds. But these difficulties did not stop the racers from flying their respective BirdyFish.

At the end of the tight, thrilling heats, a podium of three crews finally emerged, highlighting the performances of Pierre Jean Gallo and Ludovic Alleaume, Louis-Marie and Geoffroy Du Parc, Yann Floch and Pierre-Yves De Damas. As is often the case in the world of sailing, the weather took its revenge. The last day of competition was cancelled due to storm Ciarran. This setback sealed the outcome of the Grand Prix, leaving all the participants satisfied.

Ranking

We’d like to congratulate all the racers for their hard-fought race. Although only one crew can be crowned champion, let’s not forget that what really counts is the passion and the pleasure of taking part.

Finally, a special mention to the racers who came from far and wide, and to the organisers of the Cercle de la Voile de Bordeaux, Carcan and Maubuisson for their warm welcome. Not forgetting Clément Perret, photographer for the event. It was a very happy and convivial end to the regatta. We look forward to seeing you again for more sailing adventures.
